Rangers relief as Martyn Waghorn only out for two weeks

Rangers striker Martyn Waghorn is set to miss two weeks after injuring his hamstring in the 1-1 draw with Hamilton last weekend. Waghorn netted the equaliser in the match before pulling up while chasing for a ball close to the Hamilton byline.

Initially it was feared the injury was a hamstring tear, which could have put the attacker out for as long as three months.

But Waghorn put those concerns to rest, using his Twitter feed to tell supporters he’ll be back in a fortnight. He tweeted: “Good result, not as bad as it could have been. Roughly 2 weeks out, hard work has begun to come back stronger. Thank u 4 the support!”
